Sublime St. Maarten Beach

Finding A Deserted Beach

It’s Not Too Hard When You Know How..

Guana BayWe’ve assembled a list of the best beaches for peace and tranquility – the kind of beach where you don’t want:

  • The sound of jet-skis and motor boats
  • The screaming and crying of children
  • The harassment of souvenir hawkers
  • The roar of a jet-plane overhead
  • The doubt about your safety – is it too isolated?

There are many beaches in St. Maarten where you can have the best of both worlds – where at one end you can have fun and watersports and at the other be quiet and calm…..

Mullet Bay is a good example – at one end on the weekend you will find it packed with locals enjoying their family time, but at the other end be fairly distant and quiet away from the ‘madding crowd’.

Le Galion is also a classic beach for young children and locals weekend BBQ’s but if you want some tranquility, simply take a right instead of a left at the junction of the entrance to the beach and you will find yourself at the far end with shallow reef on one side and mangroves behind you – it’s also a very romantic spot!

Much more on beaches here.

If you really want complete quiet and no-one else around try Wilderness beach (see our e-book for more information on how to get there – it’s not easy!)

Here you will really be almost guaranteed to be the only person(s) on the entire beach for the whole day – the only people you are likely to see are surfers – and they will be far out in the water!
