St. Maarten Top Visitor Excursion!
Sail aboard the ‘Stars & Stripes’
Winner of the 1987 Americas Cup Challenge and kept in pristine condition for you to enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity, here is St. Maarten.
Voted the Number 1 shore excursion 11 years in a row!
This St Maarten excursion is one of the best activities a cruise passenger or hotel guest can do whilst on the island. We tried it out and here’s what we thought.
The first time I went on this tour was for a work-related ‘motivational’ outing, and considering I’m not a particularly big yachting fan, it was probably the best fun I’d had in years!.
We split into two teams and one team was in the Stars & Stripes, the other in Canada II.
We all got assigned various tasks to be a part of the team and after a funny and brief introduction by the skipper, got sailing.
Whilst it is competitive because you are racing against other boats, it is also great fun and certainly not as stressful as a ‘real’ race.
You do get time to enjoy the cool blue Caribbean waters, take a little sun and have a few beers and a laugh with your team mates……. Read the rest of this entry »

St. Martin ‘Flying’ Activities
Hook on, zip off & fly
You’re never too old to play Tarzan, as proven by the island’s undisputed fun zone at Loterie Farm on the French side St. Martin. This beautiful forest location’s ‘FlyZone’ takes both children and adults up into the canopy, where zip lines take you on an adventure course among the mangoes.
A ‘Ti Tarzan’ course for smaller children replicates the higher magic in miniature. Even further up the island’s highest hillside, the Xtreme Zipline is a high altitude, adrenalin fueled version not for the faint hearted. Qualified guides help both children and adults through the courses, while those who prefer to keep it simple can join one of the guided hikes up to the top where stunning views await. Great for groups of all sizes and definitely one of the best attractions on the island.
This is only one of lots all-ages fun activities St. Maaeren St. Maritn has to offer. It is a small island…but lots to do…
our eBook is full of useful information and discounts of great activities. You will never get board in our beautiful St. Martin!
St. Maarten Fun Restaurants – Kids Friendly
Cool Pools
Restaurants with pools are always fun for the kids and mean that Mom & Dad can enjoy a relaxing meal or cocktail while the little ones play. We have few of them in St. Maarten & St. Martin. The eponymous owner of Jimbo’s in Simpson Bay call’s his restaurant’s pool ‘the best babysitter’ there is, while the shallow pool at Bliss in Maho is also safe. La Plantation restaurant and La Playa, both in Orient Bay, also come highly recommended.
St. Maarten (Under) Water Sport Activity
Underwater Adventures
Get on board Seaworld Explorer and you’ll feel as if you’re climbing inside a flat screen, high resolution TV. This semi-submersible boat with its underwater viewing gallery takes visitors on a tour of the submarine world, which make it one of the most exciting water sport adventures in St. Maarten & St. Martin. The brightly colored fish, coral, and even the odd diver seem so close you’ll think you’re floating among them, while remaining bone dry. The tour is popular with local schools, as you’ll learn about the delicate underwater ecosystem and reef world – and why we need to protect it. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime undersea experience – fantastic fun for children and adults alike!

Things to do for kids in St. Maarten
Young fun
St Maarten is more than a playground for the big kids. There’s plenty to do for the little ones, too!
Best Beaches
Rolling surf, swaying coconut trees and endless stretches of sun-drenched sand take on a very different perspective when kids are involved.
- Is there an undertow?
- Are there sea urchins?
- Will those coconuts fall?
- Is there somewhere shady?
Luckily, St Maarten/St Martin has some of the safest, child-friendly beaches possible, most notably at Le Galion, Read the rest of this entry »
Riding The St. Maarten Waves
Riding High On The Waves
Catching that perfect wave is not just a pro thing..
On the Northern and North-East facing beaches in St. Maarten you can find the best surfing conditions. The rips are mild and the rollers are long – but you may have to contend with reef as well as the other wave-dancers – kite-surfers!
By far the best ‘locals’ place to surf (when the weather is mild) is Wilderness Beach in St. Martin – this is on the far north end of the island and is not easy to find. You have to drive as far as you can through french cul-de-sac, leave your car at the municipal garbage dump, and walk over lose washed-up coral and rough headland about 20 minutes to the edge of the point.
Luckily, many surfers before you have made it a cosy spot with a makeshift shelter complete with table and seating out of driftwood, for you to sit back and enjoy a beer after your days surfing…… Read the rest of this entry »
