There are literally dozens of car rentals in St. Maarten and, over the years, we’ve gotten to know, and try, most of them – why would a local use a car rental? Simple, when my car breaks down (as they often do in SXM due to the condition of the roads and the salty weather), there’s no such thing as a ‘day in the garage’ – it can take many days or a week and during that time I need an inexpensive rental to get around in – so, getting a good deal is important.
