St Maarten St Maritn Airport, known as Princess Juliana International Airport, considered to be one of our main attraction in St Maarten. Although St. Maarten is a little island, with daily flights from the leading airlines in US, Europe, South America and neighbor islands no wonder that the airport of St Maarten St Marin is one of the busiest in the region. If you are planning a trip over and you are looking into booking flight to St Maarten then St Maarten St Martin  airport code is simply SXM.

St Marten airport located in one of the beautiful St Maarten beaches. The runway is actually located right on the edge of Maho Beach and every landing and Taking off is a breath taking experience. One of the world famous bars – Sunset Beach Bar – located right on the beginning of the runway is by far, one of the main attraction of our island. St Maarten Airport is probably the only place in the world where you can almost touch the planes while landing…especially after few drinks…

so…buckle up, sit back, relax and enjoy the flight…

St Barths

St Barths (St Barts) – Playground of The Rich and Famous

Right next door to St Maarten- in fact I’m looking at it right now as I write this……..

Close enough to see the rooftops through a zoom lens, but far enough to be a completely different world, St Barths is recognized by the wealthy, famous and ‘wannabe’ wealthy and famous types, as the playground of the Caribbean.

St Bart’s is a quaint and chic little French island with a lot of charm, bags of street cred and prices to match.

The Sister Isles – St. Kitts & Nevis

A world away from the flat beauty of Anguilla, the sister islands of St Kitts and Nevis welcome you with the splendor of their volcanic mountains, tropical rainforest and historical riches beyond compare.

Discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493, he decided to name the country after himself, though St Christopher has over the years been shortened to the ‘fond’ name St Kitts. Separated by just 3 miles (an easy 20 minute journey on the Sea Bridge ferry service), St Kitts and Nevis together offer a wonderful option for a weekend away from St Maarten with a 30-45 minute journey from Princess Juliana Airport. Not counting, of course, the two outlying islands of Pinel and Tintamarre, which can be reached by a short boat ride from French Cul de Sac and Orient Bay respectively and offer a welcome change of venue to soak up the sun or enjoy a gourmet lunch at the water’s edge. Continue reading

Something Us Residents Do But You Can Do Too…

Saba Nearby St MaartenAn Article (Previously Published in Destination Magazine St Maarten)

When I first arrived in St. Maarten 13 years ago I was given the obligatory ‘quick-tour’ that resident ex-patriots love to dispense to all their visiting friends, relatives and colleagues with enthusiastic vigor and a generous helping of ‘pride’ (let’s face it – how many people living in the average town/city in the ‘real’ world can hold up their hands and say “I LOVE to show people around when they come to visit?” Continue reading
