There are watersports available, but you won’t hear the loud buzz of jet-skis because they are banned from this natural reserve.
it is unspoiled and uncommercialised, but you can get beach chairs & umbrellas and some great food ‘Chez Pat’ (Tropical Wave beach bar – the only one on the mile long stretch).
It’s perfect for teaching young children to swim at the north end because there are literally NO waves and it is very shallow – you can walk out quite a distance.
You can snorkel, wind-surf, paddle, kayak, surf, kite-surf or just float in the calm blue waters undisturbed……
Your host Pat & Tracy have kept this beach clean, rustic, simple and uncluttered for 30 years – to many, especially us locals, this is what a Caribbean beach is all about.

Despite many delays, interference from Dutch social workers, going missing, being arrested in St Maarten and get snubbed by the Guinness Book of World Records, Laura Dekker finally arrived at her final destination – St Maarten – after circumnavigating the world single-handedly, facing torrential rains and winds and braving massive waves and inhospitable stretches of the ocean.
A brave girl proved to one and all that sometimes age is NOT the only consideration.
Well done Laura! see you at the bridge in Simpson Bay!
